Booking a Property

The Chez Vous Rental Booking Form and the General Conditions describe the rental agreement with Chez Vous. These documents must be completed and signed by you and sent to Chez Vous with your deposit in order to book a property.

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES

Clients must provide Chez Vous with details of their expected time and method of arrival (plane, train, car, or already in Paris) so that access to the apartment and appropriate check-in can be arranged.
     •     STANDARD ARRIVALS/CHECK-IN: Incoming guests arriving or already in Paris, whose schedule allows they will be at their apartment between the hours of 9:30 am and 5 pm, Monday through Saturday, are requested to phone the Paris office to arrange to be met at the apartment. For clients expecting to take occupancy guaranteed between 9:30 am and 11 am, it is mandatory to have paid for the night before. Earliest possible check-in is 9:30 am.
     •     EXCEPTIONAL SUNDAY, HOLIDAY, LATE/EARLY ARRIVALS/CHECK-IN: Guests arriving in Paris on a Sunday, a French public holiday, or at their apartment after 5 pm must engage a designated car and driver service. The driver will meet guests at the airport, train station, or a pre-arranged meeting point within Paris.  The cost is borne by incoming guests and payable directly to the driver service in euros or by credit card. Guests arriving before the greeting service is available and wishing to check into their apartment before 9:30 am, must book the night before and engage the car and driver service as described above.
     •     DEPARTURES/CHECKOUT: Checkout is no later than 10 am on the day of departure.

DOCUMENTATION

Final travel documents will be provided when the rental is paid in full and will include individual apartment arrival details and support contact information in Paris.


LINEN AND CLEANING

Per night prices include the initial sets of bed and bath linens for the number of persons occupying the apartment. Both the initial cleaning and preparation of the apartment as well as cleaning upon departure are included in the per night price. For bookings of 14 nights or longer, fresh linens and cleaning will be provided weekly, beginning with the second week of occupancy. Extra linens and supplemental cleaning may be arranged as required with the Paris staff for a fee to be paid directly in euros in Paris.


PAYMENTS

Bookings made within 65 days of the first day of occupancy are due in full to Chez Vous within 7 days. Otherwise, one-half of the rental cost is due within 7 days to confirm the booking, with the balance to be invoiced by Chez Vous and due 65 days prior to the first day of occupancy. No payments are refundable. Failure to comply with specified payment due dates may result in cancellation of booking.


CANCELLATIONS

Any cancellation notification must be received by Chez Vous in writing. No payments made by client are refundable. If the property can be re-rented, client will receive a credit against a future booking of a Chez Vous Paris apartment. The credit will be pro rated based on the number of nights re-rented and the payment amount received from client. Such credit will be good for use for two years following last tenancy date of the cancelled reservation. Past this time, the credit will be cancelled and cannot be extended. There are no refunds under any circumstances. Clients are strongly urged to take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking. If the confirmed accommodations should be unavailable for any reason beyond the control of Chez Vous, Chez Vous reserves the right to substitute an alternative property of equal or higher value. Should alternative property be unavailable, the liability of Chez Vous shall cease upon return to the client of all monies paid by the client to Chez Vous.


DAMAGES AND CHARGES

Clients are required to act in a responsible manner at all times. The client is responsible for ensuring that the property is left upon departure in the same general condition and repair as upon arrival. Chez Vous reserves the right to recover from clients the cost of any loss or damage caused by a failure to respect the property, fixtures, or fittings. Chez Vous reserves the right to recover from clients the cost of excessive use of the telephone. Clients are kindly requested to use their credit cards for long-distance calls.


PRINTED MATTER/WEB SITE

All descriptions and information are supplied in good faith. Chez Vous and its agents are not liable for errors or inaccuracies in printed matter, literature, or web site.

SAFETY

Based upon inspection and/or information supplied by property owners and/or agents, Chez Vous believes that the properties are safe for occupancy. However, no warranty of habitability or safety is made by Chez Vous. Renters must exercise reasonable caution appropriate for visiting any new locale in a foreign country.


LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The liability of Chez Vous or its agents shall be limited to the amount of any rentals and deposits paid. In no event shall Chez Vous or its agents be liable for consequential damages.

INTERPRETATION AND DISPUTES

Any problems which occur during tenancy should first be reported to the designated local representative. Should a problem persist or be unsatisfactorily resolved from tenant's viewpoint, such problem should then be reported immediately, if possible, and under any circumstances, no later than within 72 hours to Chez Vous in the United States. All such complaints must also be followed up with written details by tenant to Chez Vous in the USA. This agreement shall be interpreted according to the laws of the State of California. This agreement contains the entire agreement of the parties, and shall not be modified, except in writing. In the case of any dispute between the parties, the resolution shall be by arbitration conducted by the American Arbitration Association and pursuant to its rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in the City of San Francisco.
